What time does the webinar begin where I am?

Ethical dilemmas are an inevitable part of counseling practice for any healthcare professional.  For those difficult times, are you familiar with a credible, accessible decision-making model to apply? In this webinar, Dr. Gamino will review his "Five P Model" for ethical decision-making and demonstrate its application with problems related to:

  • Multiple relationships, which occur when a counselor has some professional or personal connection with a client that exists in addition to the counseling relationship.
  • Internet counseling and the unique challenges related to authenticating identity, obtaining informed consent, securing confidentiality and more.

  • Public service, including large-scale disaster work or smaller-scale efforts, which all require adherence to the standards of conduct that govern more traditional grief counseling.

Learning Objectives:
After participating in this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the concepts of "boundary crossings" and "boundary violations" in multiple relationships.
  2. List disadvantages of Internet counseling that may pose ethical risks.
  3. Identify ways to obtain appropriate training to prepare oneself to volunteer for large-scale disaster work.
