Preparing to Serve Professional Societies like ADEC
Presenters: Louis A. Gamino, Sherry Goldstrohm & Janet McCord
In recognition of how vital volunteers are in the non-profit world, ADEC’s Leadership Recruitment and Development Committee (LRDC) offers this three-hour interactive CE workshop free of charge to enable enrollees to explore general theories and principles of leadership in non-profit associations.
In addition, specific pathways to serving in ADEC will be described, such as requirements for volunteering, ways to become active, ADEC’s organizational structure of committees and task forces, qualifications to run for elected offices, and the association’s working relationship with Management HQ. The workshop is envisioned to be both informational and motivational, not just for students and new professionals but for any member interested in taking an active role in the association.
- List benefits to volunteer leadership within professional associations
- Discuss leadership competencies needed in non-profit associations
- Describe three ways to become an active leader in ADEC
