Can I participate via live-stream?
Yes, selected sessions will be offered live-streamed for webcast participants. All keynotes and selected Concurrent Sessions will be noted in our Final Program. Live-stream sessions include Continuing Education (CE's), for a minimal fee. Valuing our ADEC community, we will have various informal networking sessions (non CE's) to get to know you and to foster our all-important sense of ADEC as a "professional home."
What do I need to attend the selected live-stream sessions?
To attend the selected live-stream sessions virtually, you need a good internet connection, your device or computer, and a valid registration. You will receive login and access details a few days prior to the conference.
What platform will ADEC use for its conference?
Whova is the virtual platform ADEC will be using to host the conference. Whova has both a web platform and mobile app. Attendees are encouraged to use both throughout the conference. This is the same platform and mobile app that has been used in the past at ADEC’s conferences. All attendees - both those in-person and live-stream - will have access to the Whova platform.
When will we receive access information?
You will receive login and access details in the week prior to the conference.
What is the conference schedule?
View the conference schedule online. This is an overview. We are updating pages throughout the website as further information is available.
How do I register?
Registration is now open, with Early Bird rates available through April 3. Regular registration rates go into effect on April 4. On-Site registration rates go into effect on April 25.

Can I earn CEUs at Conference?
Yes, In-Person attendees can earn up to 25 CEUs by participating in the live Conference sessions and the recordings (made available after the conference). You need to purchase your CE's at the same time that you register for the conference.
How do I obtain my CEUs?
CEU registrants will receive information from the ADEC office during the Pre-Conference and Conference sessions, and after the Conference.
Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance?
Yes, all conference participants will be provided with a Certificate of Attendance. This is an acceptable option for ADEC's CT/FT application & recertification requirements. The certificate will list all conference presentations. You can record the sessions you participate in and report this total number of hours on your Certificate of Attendance. You can track up to 25 contact hours if you register for the full conference: live sessions followed by additional selected recorded sessions. You will need to keep this list of sessions and certificate for your ADEC's CT/FT application or recertification. These documents are not being tracked by ADEC.
How many concurrent sessions will be offered?
During each concurrent session time slot, ADEC will have up to six different presentations. Participants will not register for sessions in advance; therefore you will be able to join whichever session you would like.
What if I miss a session? Will recordings be available?
All Keynote Sessions and at least one (1) Concurrent Sessions per time slot will be both live-streamed and recorded. We will make these recorded sessions available to all participants (in person and live-streamed) to view online from Wednesday May 3 through Wednesday May 31, 2023. CE's are available, per purchase with your Conference Registration.

What are the Professional Development Courses?
ADEC's Professional Development Courses provide participants the chance to deepen their knowledge in an environment tailored to their current level of experience in the field. Attendees spend two days with some of the finest minds in thanatology and enjoy a unique and inspiring learning experience. Professional Development Courses take place on Tuesday April 25 and Wednesday April 26, 2023. This is a two-day course, in person only. You can earn 12 CEUs by participating in one PD Course.
What are the Specialty Workshops?
ADEC's Specialty Workshops offer a variety of in-depth topics related to the field of thanatology. We provide one full-day Specialty Workshop on Tuesday April 25, 2023 and two different half-day Specialty Workshops on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. You can earn 5 CEUs by participating in the full-day workshop or 2.5 CEUs by participating in either of the half-day workshops. These are not included in the regular Conference Registration, and therefore require an additional cost.
